Bio
I am a Master’s student under the direction of Dr. Susan Brander and Dr. Scott Heppell. I earned my bachelor’s degree in marine science from the University of Maine. I am looking at the gastrointestinal tracts of black rockfish (Sebastes melanops) for the presence of microplastics. We are collecting rockfish from different locations on the Oregon coast with the help of a charter company and ODFW. ODFW is collecting fish outside of marine reserves, and the charter is out of Newport. I hope to determine how much plastic is present within the black rockfish off the coast.
