We’ve moved – check out our new website here!
Welcome the Nexus of Energy, Water and Agriculture Laboratory, a.k.a. NEWAg Lab. We study the physical, operational and geospatial connections in the energy-water-food nexus. These resources are linked through a series of tradeoffs that are place specific, need specific, and driven by environmental processes. To address these issues, we must understand the budgets of water and carbon at the land surface, redistribution of water by atmospheric process, irrigation technologies and efficiencies, the role of renewable energy sources and much more. Many of the questions we seek to answer require sensor development, trans-disciplinary synthesis, numerical simulations, development of theory, and field experimentation. Feel free to browse the projects section to get a sense for what we are doing, and what technologies and approaches we use. Get to know our team, and get the whole story in our publications.
