Variable shading from photovolatic solar panels creates a unique microclimate, altering the local hydrology and ecology underneath the solar canopy. Here in the NEWAg Lab, we research the impact of solar on agricultural ecosystems. Our current projects seek to quantify these microclimatic variations and evaluate their impact on crops, livestock, and our precious agricultural lands.
